The Opportunity

You will be part of a fast-moving, dynamic team that designs and builds an ecosystem of services powering a product that is fundamentally changing how real estate leasing works.

As a Frontend Engineer, you will report to the existing Frontend Lead, you will play a massive part in the modernization of Legacy applications as well as undertaking several brand new builds.

The role will mean that you can make a real impact and contribute ideas and work independently once you are fully ramped within an exciting space.

The Tech stack

  • Javascript and React will be core to your role

  • Javascript, NodeJS, Postgres, DynamoDB, AWS Lambda and AWS.

  • Legacy systems: Python-Django, Django REST framework, Typescript.

The work you will be a part of

The Work you will do

  • Collaborate with Engineers and the Product Team to turn ideas into a clear product roadmap and ensure flawless execution.

  • Developing and maintaining consumer- and customer-facing applications in the fintech and proptech space that help connect and underwrite consumers against housing risk models and allow customers to understand and process those applications for move in.

  • Generate insights through UX and visualization of complex consumer financial data to empower customers to evaluate consumer applicants and help them find a home that fits their needs and ability to pay.

Relevant project experience you have

  • Organizing complex information into coherent, simple UI/UX (especially financial data),

  • Skill with generating visualizations from complex data in addition to general data organization skills,

  • Creating engaging, simple UX for consumers in conversational applications (e.g. TurboTax, etc.)

  • Trust over control - the CTO wants to create an environment of shared ownership and trust these are the core traits that came across to me when discussing the difference between high performers and the culture within the business

  • 2-week sprints -

    Sprint planning takes place on Thursdays - you are not dragged into meetings for the sake of it and generally, pod leads and other stakeholders run a tight ship on this preventing unneeded bureaucracy.

  • Technical Debt is being paid down they have a legacy Django system in place that will be about a year away from being replaced - they have a sensible approach to their technical debt and how to use it, within the property space there will be a lot of old school thinking that keeps legacy approaches common and they are trying to make sure to create a sustainable approach that allows you to innovate.

Important information

💰 Salary: $140,000 - $175,000 //There is flexibility for exceptional candidates
